Land of the Free
I find it ironic when police ticket people who set off fireworks to celebrate the liberty and freedom that this country was founded on.

Freedom!!!!
Huzzah for rules and regulations! GOOD MEN FOUGHT AND DIED FOR THE GOVERNMENT'S RIGHT TO TAKE OUR FIREWORKS AWAY!
well, around here, firewords can set ablaze thousands of acres of dry brush, so i guess they have a reason for regulating it.
burn burn BURN!!!
Exactly, i don't know what hes talking about (woodrowwilson)
@woodrowwilson - They have alreay gotten to you with their "reasons."
now doesn't make you wonder why you have any laws at all?
@TheTheologiansCafe - yes, them and their firewords. they got me.
Yes! Because fireworks are the ultimate symbol of freedom. Rockets red glare, it's written in our national anthem.
@woodrowwilson - They always have reasons and excuses, but that doesn't change the fact that with every law they pass, our freedom that they wave about is that much more limited.
Word.
Huzzahs for contradictions!
Oh well it's fun to break the law.
Honestly, how many people really have a second thought about freedom when they're blowing shit to smithereens? Fireworks on the 4th is a tradtion unrelated to the origin of the holiday, a well loved tradition, but a mere tradition all the same.
I find it ironic when police ticket people who do stupid, drunken thing on St. Patricks day to celebrate the Irish labor that this country was founded on.
And the home of the brave. :O
It is ironic.Oh, the irony!
Damn commie bastards!
kaboom.
you won't be saying that if a firework burns down your house =.=
Well, we may complain. But what would we really do if we didn't have the police? The whole country would be in trouble! There'd be anarchy!
LOL. Land of the free as long as you're a Bible-thumping Christian, that is.....
@Chinese_Sait0u - Sure I would, that's what insurance is for.
@The_Brink_of_Omniscience - Most of the people who celebrate St. Patty's day in this country aren't even Irish. . . and the Irish ones (including me, even though I don't drink) have no idea what the holiday actually stands for.
Irony and hypocrisy is what the police uphold. This country was founded on hypocrisy (everyone is equal, cept the Irish--when they first immigrated--, blacks--always--, Japanese--WWII--, etc.) Lovely.
